Hey Guys. I’m new to upright bass and I am scrounging around for all kinds of information on basses, strings, set ups and all. I have been playing electric bass locally for about 12 years and I have embarked upon this cool ride, The Upright Bass. I am digging into my scales and some simple slap technique. I do not own my own bass but I am renting a 1964 Kay. According to the tag inside the bass. It seems to have had a fingerboard replacement on it and its a nice bass. I’m looking at a Shen SB80 tomorrow. I will be on the boards getting as much info that I need starting now!!!
I ended up with a really nice SB90 from Shen. I bought it new at David Gage in Manhattan.
