My name is Kevin Stewart. I live in Orange County, CA. I singed up last week, but for some reason the graphics weren’t working, so I couldn’t post sooner…

I play both upright (since 94′) and electric bass (since 88′? ). I have played bass for Glen Glenn, Sleepy LaBeef, Wanda Jackson, Mac Curtis, Big Sandy and his Fly Rite Boys, Brian Jay & the Last Call Boys, Karling Abbeygate, Cadillac Angels, Pep Torres, Exotiki (still a current member) …. along with ska bands See Spot and RX Bandits. Punk bands too… but too many to list 😛

Just played a gig w/Deke last night and may end up playing more with him soon. Also have a side project with Robert (Big Sandy) and Al Martinez (Moonlight Cruisers) that is a drummer-less Trio called ??? Trio. (We haven’t thought of a name yet…) Wish the 3 of us had more time to do play this band more often.

I love playing. I feel the need to play everyday, but only when there are other musicians involved.

Gut Strings and a Kay w/Underwood played through a Ampeg are my current tools. I also have a King Moretone (44′) that was my first bass and I love the shit out of it! I miss playing it out live, but it needs to stay in the house where it is safe from now on.

Looking forward to more fun on this site! Congrats, and Thanks, Djordje!!!

    Cheers

    Metalstorm,

The last punk band I was in was out of Brazil and they were named Holly Tree. The original bassist split back to Brazil, so George the singer/guitarist called me. We only played about 10 shows before I was snagged off to make money back in the wonderful world of Roots music. (the biggest problem I found while playing punk for 8 or more years was not getting paid for SHIT!)

The band before that was the Have Not$ out of Huntington Beach, Ca. We were signed to Hostage Records and you may still be able to find our little 10″ two song record out there on the web somewhere, as well as a compilation they put out. Nothing I’m really proud of FYi. Just basic So CA punk rock…

The others are really not worth mentioning…. 😛

It’s holding! Bridge is shifting a bit. Other than that it’s fine.
