Well good morning everyone, my name is Richard Street and I am another upright slapper living and working here in the NYC area.

I came across the site when I first saw, like I’m sure many of you did, the clips on youtube of Nicolas Dubouchet. Man can that boy play.

What’s nice is that it does hearken back to the guys like Slam Stewart. That’s the joint.

In either case, I myself play and write for a jump blues band called Lil’ Cliff and the Cliffhangers. http://www.lilcliff.com

I play a pine 3/4 box made locally, with electromagnetic P.U. and currently have her strung with metal wrapped Heliocore strings. Pretty easy on the hands in consideration.

For a while I was using a K & K P.U., but all I did was fight with the feedback and just could never get sufficient volume.

The only thing is that I suspect I would probably be doing myself a favor if I converted to weed wackers, but then I’m back to the volume and feedback problem. So anyone with any bright ideas let me know.

OK then, nice to be here and I’m looking forward to sharing the love.

    Have a great day.
    RS
